Trail !?
Past 1500 feet trails in the Presidential Range can still have a lot of ice and snow in late Spring.

Krumholtz (sp?)

On Top
On the cairn at the summit of Mt. Eisenhower (4780 feet). Those clouds began spitting rain and hail about ten minute later.
North
Further North along the Presidentials from Eisenhower. I turned back here in the rain.
Valley Plants
It's hard to live on the windy peaks, so very little does.
More Back Down
I walked down along this ridge over the col and the hump of Mt. Pierce and down the other side to Crawford Notch and a warm fire.
Notch
Crawford Notch looking to toward the South.

The environment is more hospitable lower down on Mt. Pierce's slopes.
